The battle for global recognition is over – our two debut wines stand alongside the best on the planet.
In the world of wine, there are moments that define a winery’s journey. After our Merlot and Syrah won medals at the International Wine Challenge last month, news came that surpassed all our expectations – both wines won gold medals with 95 points at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2025, considered by many experts to be the world’s most influential wine competition.
What makes this success special?
For us, this success is not a goal, but a beginning. Decanter gold medals give us extra impetus for new projects, knowing that every vintage is a new opportunity to raise our standards even higher.
While the International Wine Challenge has already confirmed the quality of our wines, the Decanter World Wine Awards represents an even greater challenge. Known as the “Olympics of Wine”, this year’s competition saw the participation of a record 248 world wine experts, including 22 Master Sommeliers and 72 Masters of Wine – the largest number in the history of the competition. Judging takes place in multiple rounds of blind tastings with strict criteria. Wines arrived from 57 countries, and Croatia won a total of 386 medals this year, which is 20 more than last year and confirms the growing reputation of Croatian winemaking on the international scene. It is worth noting that Croatia took an impressive eighth place in terms of total medal wins, leaving behind countries such as Canada, the USA, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
But what makes our success truly exceptional is the fact that these are our first Syrah and Merlot wines. In the 22-year history of the Decanter World Wine Awards, it is extremely rare for a winery to debut two new varieties and immediately win gold medals. Statistically, less than 1% of all wines entered win gold, and we achieved this with both of our debut wines. This is no coincidence – it is the result of years of planning and tireless dedication to quality.
